Mokume-Etchings

Sabrina d 'Agliano druckt von den geschmiedeten und gefrästen Mokume Gane - Platten mit einer Handpresse Radierungen, und fixiert so die unterschiedlichen Zustände einer Platte in wenigen gedruckten Exemplaren. Durch das mehrfache Schmieden wird die  Platte unregelmäßig und unberechenbar, und weist deshalb oft Fehlstellen auf. Die Künstlerin überarbeitet jeden einzelnen Druck von Hand mit Pinsel und Ölfarbe, bis das Ergebnis ganz ihrer Vorstellung entspricht. So wird jedes Blatt zum Unikat.

Etchings

Sabrina d 'Agliano uses her Mokume Gane packages for her etchings, which she produces manually. In doing so she manages to create a timeline of different impressions during the process of working with Mokume. Every single etching is reworked with oil and brush by hand, and it loses the repetative character of the technique of etching during the process and becomes unique.
